The difference between the local and the industrialized food system lies in the social, economic, and environmental interactions.The local food movement has impressively grown from its grass roots beginnings, and infiltrated mainstream thought as a revolution in the way society views food. Eating locally is something that is available to all citizens and yet, is still opposed by some.
While there has been a trend toward purchasing and eating locally produced food, it is not a realistic or practical approach for the future.
